Far from being a film about life in the gangs of Medellín, El Bolero de Rubén is a tragedy set to the rhythm of boleros where Marta, a young woman who dreams of being a singer, leaves her mother's house to live with her boyfriend and have the life she always dreamed of. But the young couple is doomed to live a future that is far from their plans.
